A minister who is out to please the Sanggunian, has written an article, sending it to everyone he knows to convince them that the ministers who were recently removed, “resigned” from their offices, and expelled “do not really believe that the Iglesia Ni Cristo is of God and Brother Felix Y. Manalo is the Messenger of God in these last days.” He also said that, “their turning away from the faith and departure from the ministry showed their shallow recognition of the authority of the Administration placed by God in the Church.” By the way, the said minister is also very much aware and oftentimes “discreetly” vocal in criticizing the Sanggunian, especially brother Glicerio B. Santos, Jr., whenever his requests are not granted, and many ministers can attest to that. Let us analyze what he said.
He said that the ministers who voiced out their feelings “do not really believe that the Iglesia Ni Cristo is of God and Brother Felix Y. Manalo is the Messenger of God in these last days.” What he failed to realize is that the ministers he accuses of unbelief, did what they did even to the point of sacrificing themselves because of their loving concern for the Church. They could have remained mum and blind to the corruptions and wrong doings of the Sanggunian members so as not to antagonize them, thus, remain in their offices. But their being ministers of God who took a solemn oath like every minister did, that they would take good care of God’s flock, never to tolerate evil deeds in the Church, but faithfully uphold the doctrines taught by God’s messenger in these last days, gave them the boldness to do what they had to do.
He further accused the expelled ministers of planning to form their own Church reminiscent he said, of what was done by those who rebelled against the messenger of God in these last days. Again, he failed to see that the newly expelled ministers were removed by the Sanggunian because of trying to defend and preserve the sanctity of the Church from the corrupt and destructive practices of some ministers. Unlike those who rebelled against Brother Felix Y. Manalo, the newly expelled ministers never said anything against God’s messenger and his teachings. On the contrary, they are against the ministers who blatantly change the Church rules and procedures on implementing the doctrines of the Church taught by God’s messenger.
This minister, claims to be the No. 1 defender of the Iglesia ni Cristo. Let me give him and his co-defenders a piece of unsolicited advice. Why not expose the real culprit, or those who claim they love the Church and the Church Administration when in fact, they are the ones destroying its sacred image by corrupting its finances, its rules, and even the doctrines of the Church taught by Brother Felix Y. Manalo, the Messenger of God in these last days, and faithfully upheld by the Church Administration for a long time? NOW, WHO DOES NOT BELIEVE THAT THE CHURCH IS OF GOD AND BROTHER FELIX Y. MANALO IS GOD’S MESSENGER IN THESE LAST DAYS? WHO HAS A SHALLOW RECOGNITION OF THE AUTHORITY OF THE CHURCH ADMINISTRATION? A MINISTER WHO TRIES HIS BEST TO PRESERVE THE SANCTITY OF THE CHURCH, THE MINISTRY AND THE ADMINISTRATION EVEN TO THE EXTENT OF BEING MALIGNED, PERSECUTED AND PROSECUTED, OR A MINISTER WHO DESECRATES THE CHURCH, THE ADMINISTRATION AND THE MINISTRY BY BECOMING CORRUPT, OR A MINISTER WHO DOES NOTHING? Here is God’s warning to the lukewarm, “I will spew you out of My mouth.” A true defender of the Church is always prepared to defend the Church against both external and internal destructive forces. He does not hold his peace in the face of many corruptions of which he is very much aware of knowing that internal force is more dangerous and damaging than external forces.
How can true ministers of God bear to see the corruptions and wrong doings in the Church and do nothing, while everywhere in the world, members of the Church are already peacefully expressing their disgust? How can they afford not to listen to their sentiment? Their attention should be called by the sudden drop and continuous decline in the offerings of members, a very clear expression of silent protest to what is happening. It is so disheartening to see that the shepherds of God’s flock remain asleep and complacent while the sheep placed under their care are restless and are so afraid of what might happen to them.
