The Inception of Eduardo Manalo’s ‘Great Personal Sacrifice’

“Falsehood and lies will fly, as it were, on the wings of the wind, and carry its tales to every corner of the earth; whilst truth lags behind; her steps, though sure, are slow and solemn, and she has neither vigour nor activity enough to pursue and overtake her enemy…”

A non-INC member once told me, “Wouldn’t it be much simpler and absolutely way better, if Eduardo Manalo would just show humility and compassion towards his own Mother, Brothers and sister? I mean, he is the spiritual leader of a church, can’t he follow what he preaches and set an example to the rest of the world just like the Lord Jesus Christ and his Apostles?”

The “Impartial” answer to this is, “Yes, it is exactly what a true Christian, a true follower and disciple of Jesus Christ would do, thus, it is evident what kind of a person Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo truly is.”

The “Realist” answer to this is, “Any Christian Leader who cannot lead compassionately by loving God above all, and his fellowman the way he loves himself is not a Christian, much less a Leader.”

The “One-With-EVM” answer to this is, “The expulsion and extreme treatment agains his own mother and siblings is only proof that Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo truly loves the church more than anyone, including his own family. And besides, these people are no longer his family, the church members are now his family and the expelled members deserve to be punished and killed because their souls will not be saved anyway.”

The “Optimistic-Yet-Naive” answer to this is, “Maybe Bro. Eduardo Manalo really loves his family but he just needs to show the whole world that he is above his own personal interests. He is probably secretly helping his family to get back into the church and he probably dropped all the charges to set his own brother and nephew free from prison.”

But the plain and simple answer to this can be broken down into simple truths:

1. Hatred is what makes people do ungodly things;
2. It takes a tremendous amount of hatred for anyone to foresake and attack his own family;
3. Anyone who has this kind of hatred in his heart is incapable of forgiveness and becomes devoid of genuine love;
4. Anyone who hates is a murderer;
5. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness.

I personally do not have any ill wishes for Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo, his Ministers, his wife, Babylyn and all those who share his searing hatred towards his own family or anyone who’s expelled from his institution. I still hope and pray that he will have a change of heart for his own good and the good of his children and his children’s children. But if Bro. Eduardo simply cannot expel the wickedness and hatred in his heart, he will never see the light that will lead him towards spiritual maturity.

Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo may be able to “wash his hands” by letting his Sanggunian Ministers handle the “dirty” job that would give him absolute deniability of any wrongdoing. There’s always the influential clout over politicians, law enforcement career officers, judges and justices, and even the President of the Philippines himself, President Rodrigo Duterte whose knees tremble to Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo’s whims.

But if there’s anyone who has the power to start the “purge” against those who stood up against the anomalies inside the current church administration, he also has the power to stop it. Unfortunately with the way Bro. Eduardo Manalo is blinded by his constant pursuit of worldly recognition and luxurious comforts of this world, he will not trade it for anyone or anything in this world, not even for God himself.

So the only logical path for a person consumed with pride, hatred and greed is to start a lie, live and breathe that lie, until he and all of those who follow him believe the lies. And what better way to coverup the truth about the extreme persecution and oppression of the family of Bro. Eraño G. Manalo in the hands of his eldest son, than to start a propaganda about the benevolence of this son. Cover story: Thank you Bro. Eduardo for “choosing” the church over your own family. Once the inception of the idea of that “great personal sacrifice” has been planted in the minds of the brethren thru worship service lessons, TV and Radio Programs, Social Media Campaigns and every means possible, then it’s basically hook, line and sinker.

Do you recall any of these propaganda spiels:

1. Bro. Eduardo Manalo is not aware or involved with any corruption.
2. Bro. Eduardo Manalo immediately expelled the corrupt Sanggunian Ministers upon “discovering” that they have been accepting bribes from politicians.
3. Bro. Eduardo Manalo made an ultimate sacrifice to expel his own mother and siblings but he had to do it for the sake of the church.
4. Bro. Eduardo Manalo tried to prevent his family from being imprisoned but he cannot condone any wrongdoing so his hands are tied.
5. Bro. Eduardo Manalo is secretly helping Bro. Angel Manalo to be freed from prison.
6. Bro. Eduardo Manalo is the one secretly paying for Bro. Angel’s legal fees to be freed from prison.
7. Bro. Eduardo Manalo is providing financial assistance and medical assistance for his ailing mother and that they have reunited already.
8. Bro. Eduardo Manalo was able to find a way for his mother Sis. Tenny and his Bro. Brothers Angel and Marco and his sister Lottie to re-enlist in the church.
9. Sis. Tenny Manalo passed away, but not before she was able to return to the church.
10. Bro. Eduardo Manalo has reunited with his whole family. Bro. Angel and his nephew Bro. Jem Hemedez, have been freed from jail and they are all back in Central where they are being cared for.

The only thing these have in common is that they are all LIES. EVM, his wife, his council and top ministers colluded with one another to spread these vicious lies to control the damage that they themselves inflicted to the church in the first place!

Unfortunately for them, not all people are gullible or voluntarily choose to believe the lies fed to them. There is a greater majority of people who are gifted by God to discern the truth. But I guess we cannot blame them for trying because of the need to enhance EVM’s image from being the heartless, unforgiving, vindictive, oppressive and unChristian person that his actions reveal him to be. It may have worked on some at one time, but not on everyone and definitely not for all time.

We may not catch up with the lies that have flown around the world, to the moon and back as of this writing, but we’ll definitely shed some light in the minds for those who cared enough to think of what would have our Lord Jesus Christ done if he was in the shoes of the self-proclaimed Most Important Person in the world.

Now, if you are brave enough to know the truth, try inviting a minister to go with you to Bicutan, Camp Bagong Diwa to inquire wether Bro. Angel Manalo and his companions are still there or not.

Better yet, have the ministers that tell you he is no longer in prison show you where he is now.  But wait, there’s more! How do they explain the falsehood of their claim since 2010 that Sis. Tenny died, only for her to die again in 2019, but not before she returned to the church. Don’t you just love listening to these lies when you know the truth?
