For almost two years during the greatest fight of our faith as the true defenders of the pristine gospel of the Church of Christ, the name Jezebel has been mentioned numerous times. As difficult as it is to like a name and a woman who has been saddled with a reputation as the most evil woman of the Bible, the wickedest of women in fact, this ancient queen’s spirit has truly manifested not only in one person, but in a group of unprincipled and hypocritical leaders we have come to know in the church as the Sanggunian and their Executive Minister, hailed and praised as the most important man in the world, EVM- They all seem to like her and her ways.
Jezebel’s spirit was indeed prophesied in the book of Revelations to come back in these last days upon a modern day woman, who will not stop meddling with the affairs in the church. God will take this against her husband, the modern day king or leader who will tolerate the sins of this woman and allow her to mislead God’s servants.
“But I have this complaint against you. You are permitting that woman–that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet–to lead my servants astray. She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols.” Revelations 2:20(NLT)
Our late and true Executive Minister, brother Eraño G. Manalo also spoke of Jezebel even before he died to warn us about this woman and the wrath, disunity and devastation that her spirit will bring upon the church and those she will persecute and oppress. No good comes from this woman’s deeds. She cannot be compared to other women in the Bible who may have been bad because Jezebel is simply the worst and she will never come close in comparison to a cherished wife in the Bible like RUTH.
In our time, she is denounced as a murderer and an enemy of God for she will kill as many souls as she wants through expulsions which are baseless and without due process. There is no doubt that the spirit of Jezebel will function just as proficiently through men- those that she will control and those who will listen to her and allow her and her charm to possess their being. Again, we have no doubt that this is fulfilled in the Sanggunian and her husband. Together, they will persecute and oppress widows, orphans or the fatherless as mentioned in the Bible, and they will refuse to admit guilt or wrong doing, yet they will be quick to take credit for everything good that they can show for even without contributing any effort in it. Jezebel will use people to accomplish her agenda. Let us concentrate on this trait of this woman for which she will let others do her dirty work…
